PET MODEL STANDARDS
KEEP PET RESTRAINED
keep your pet in a carrier or on a leash until they begin modeling. avoid letting them wander around the studio.
wandering pets are a safety hazard both for your pet as well as other crew members and soona equipment.
pet owners are responsible for any damages incurred.
PREP YOUR PET
practice verbal commands at home regularly.
read training and posing tips + tricks
if your pet gets extra excited, try calming chews or taking a long walk before the shoot.
have your pet go to the bathroom before coming in studio to prevent accidents.
BRING SUPPLIES
arrive with water, toys, treats, or anything else you may need to help manage your pet's behavior in studio.
GROOMING + APPEARANCE
soona doesn't require professional grooming to occur before shoots. but we do expect them to be bathed, brushed, and looking their best with simple at home care.
GREAT PET MODELING INCLUDES
reliability. prep your pet before each shoot. practice basic commands. update your availability. and use shoot etiquette.
pose variety. the more poses your pet knows + the faster they follow commands, the more likely the client is going to swoon!
🐶 dog tip: practice verbal commands. the faster your dog listens to verbal commands, the faster the shoot goes. physical intervention generally slows down the shoot.
🐱 cat tip: the faster your cat feels comfy, the easier the shoot will be. experiment with different techniques to help make your cat feel at home + let the crew know if you need any extra accommodations. we will do what we can!understand the assignment. read through each assignment carefully + thoroughly.
pay attention to the commands or actions the client is requesting of your animal, as well as what other models may be on set. only accept the assignment if you are confident your animal can accomplish the requests.get inspired. use Pinterest or research other similar brand and products to get ideas on poses, mood, angles, and more!

FAQs
how do I get assignments?
a few things are taken into consideration before assigning models to bookings:
clients select their top 3 models in a model selection process.
in model selection, clients can see the entire model directory for one location. models are surfaced by most available to least available. clients also can filter models based on traits.our scheduling team assesses if the model's availability lines up with our studio, photographer, and (sometimes) other provider availability.
this is also where allergies, skills, or limitations communicated to us may be taken into consideration. they will assign the providers that meet the clients needs and can get the shoot on the calendar the quickest. (please still review shoot goals to ensure you are confident in requirements before accepting.)
if you have not yet received an assignment, it is often just a matter of time since assignments are given based on client demand.
read more info on assignments here.
what if my pet looks different than their test shoot?
your pet's appearance may naturally change overtime. and if your pet was onboarded as a puppy or kitten, we want to get their adult appearance on file.
if your pet looks different than their test shoot, email collective@soona.co. we will let you know the best way to get their headshots updated.
how do I increase assignment frequency?
enter and update availability at least once a week
ensure your services are turned ON and all trait fields are filled out in your pro service profile
always respond to assignment emails
be reliable and quick with responding to our emails and texts
beyond that it's a bit of a waiting game until you are selected by a client!
how do I communicate allergies, skills, or other notes about my pet?
there is space to share allergies and other notes in your pro service profile. these notes are visible to our entire soona crew.
navigate to this tab on book.soona.co and click "edit" in the top section to update this information any time.
soona will look at these notes when assigning providers. however, it is ultimately your responsibility to assess and ensure your ability to service the assignment before responding.
if any new info is shared after acceptance that limits your ability to successfully participate, text us or let an in-studio crew member know as soon as possible.
